Objectives of the HS Chapman Society

To promote public understanding of the Australian electoral systems

To monitor the operation of the Australian electoral system and, if necessary, recommend changes to the law and practice of elections

To compare the Australian electoral systems with those of other democratic countries

To develop and promote the principles of fair elections applicable to the Australian electoral system

To identify the opportunity for, and occurrence of electoral fraud, malpractice and maladministration and to promote legislative and administrative solutions consistent with the principle of fair elections

To support the fundamental principle of the secret ballot, the integrity of the electoral roll and the public scrutiny of each stage of electoral process

To develop links with comparable non-government organisations whose objectives are compatible with those of the H.S. Chapman Society
